Breakfast or dessert, you pick, This Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread is easy to make and so good you may just want it for both. Simply cut and pinch your cinnamon rolls then roll them in a cinnamon-sugar mix. Baked and then drizzled with icing.
Not only was this Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread delicious it was also easier to make than homemade monkey bread!
I usually make a Monkey Bread for the mornings on holidays.
Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to make this breakfast. It is so good, and we snack on it all day! I also have a Maple Nut Monkey Bread you will love.
How to make Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread:
No mixing dough at all I just used three cans of cinnamon rolls! I cut them into small pieces to make lots of mini rolls and then put it together just like you would monkey bread.
After it's baked pour on that icing! It's so easy to make and it's so good.
Ingredients:
- Cinnamon Roll Dough (canned from the store)
- Sugar
- Cinnamon
- Butter (1 stick)
- Brown Sugar
- Icing (use the packages that come with the cinnamon roll cans)
Directions:
Step one: Get started by preheating your oven and then grease a Bundt cake pan and set aside.
Step two: Microwave butter and brown sugar for 1 minute. Remove it from the microwave and use a fork to mix well until most of the sugar is dissolved.
Step three: Cut each cinnamon roll into 4 pieces. Pinch and roll to form little mini cinnamon rolls. Do this to each cinnamon roll and set aside.
Step four: In a separate bowl mix together sugar and cinnamon. Roll each little cinnamon roll in the cinnamon sugar then place it into the bundt cake pan.
Step five: Once the first layer is full add the butter-sugar mix then add another layer of cinnamon rolls and repeat until you are out of cinnamon rolls. I made three layers one with each can.
Step six: Bake in the oven and then remove from the oven and let it sit for about 5 minutes then turn upside down on a plate and tap on the pan. Drizzle with icing. Serve and enjoy!
Variations you can add to your Monkey Bread:
- Apple Pie Filling - Believe it or not, add a can of apple pie filling to your dough, and it will give you a whole new experience with Monkey Bread. An Apple Pie Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread is a mouthful to say, but it also tastes amazing
- Nuts - Adding chopped pecans or walnuts to your Monkey Bread is an addition that gives your monkey bread a nice crunch and flavor.
- Sauce - Instead of icing try adding a chocolate or caramel sauce to sweeten up the Monkey Bread.
- Chocolate Chips - Mixing chocolate chips into the dough will melt perfectly during baking and will be a very chocolatey gooey Monkey Bread.
How long can you store this Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread for:
Monkey Bread can store on the counter in an air tight container for about 2 or 3 days.
In a refrigerator Monkey Bread is best if eaten within 5 to 7 days.
Can you freeze Monkey Bread?
No you should definitely not freeze Monkey Bread. The sugar will get too hard, and thawing or reheating will make the bread turn soggy. It will not be enjoyable if frozen and then reheated up.
