Baseball Style Scrapbook Shirt Cut Out the Drams
By now you've probably picked up on one of the biggest trends – the choker is back! They're delicate, edgy & can add a little spice to even the simplest outfit. The choker shirt is one of my favorite trends. It's kind of like a combination between a turtleneck, halter top & necklace. Everyone from Gigi Hadid and the Jenners to your favorite fashion bloggers have been wearing them lately. Lucky for you guys, I have a super fun & easy tutorial to make your own DIY CHOKER CUTOUT T-SHIRT!
I've seen a ton of them online and stumbled upon some vintage tee's revamped into choker tops. The only problem is that they are SO overpriced. I'm sorry, but I'm not spending $200 on a fricken t-shirt.
SO… I'm here to teach you how to make your very own one of a kind choker tee!
They're super cute thrown on with a pair of denim shorts or distressed jeans. In these pics, I styled mine with a faux leather pencil skirt, gold clutch, favorite studded boots & stackable rings.
All you need is a t-shirt and a pair of scissors. You can use any t-shirt you want!
I recommend using one that's a little bit oversized (or even a little too big). You can also use an old muscle tank (like I did below). Doesn't matter!
My favorite part is that you can use one that's already in your closet – meaning you don't have to spend a dime! If you don't have one to DIY, check out some of my favorite graphic tees HERE!

The Supplies
A Graphic T-Shirt
Chalk
Scissors
Step One: Pick a t-shirt
I picked a Metallica Tee because they're one of my all time favorite bands. It's actually from the Men's section of Urban Outfitters because I like mine to fit a little loose. You can use one that's fitted, loose, cropped or long. It doesn't matter!
Step Two: Outline
For the most part, I've been known to start cutting without a guide, but it's easier to draw an outline (trust me). I use chalk because it wipes off and is easier to see than pen. If your shirt is a light color, you don't want to use something that will stain it like a marker.
But when you're outlining, take into consideration how deep you want your v-neck to be. You can even try the shirt on and make a mark with the chalk where you want the tip to end.
Next, just trace an opening with the chalk. It's ok if it's not perfectly symmetrical, no one will notice.
Step Three: Snip Snip
Finally… the magic happens. Start by cutting at one edge of the collar down to the point of the cutout. Then, cut up the other side. Lastly, you're going to cut along the collar.
The only tricky part is making sure you don't cut the collar. The whole point is to leave a little "window" or cutout.
The DIY Shirt Grand Reveal
That's literally all there is to it! Grab your little triangle and reveal your masterpiece!
So easy, right!? You're going to want to do this fun DIY to all of your old t-shirts now! It literally takes about 2 minutes & looks totally chic! It's a great way of updating a boring shirt and adding a little glam!
If your cutout is super low cut, don't worry! You can just throw on a cute, strappy bralette!
Or, pick up a diamond triangle bra for a little extra sparkle peaking out!
